Delay in road reconstruction

Department of Road and Kathmandu Valley Development Authority couldn't able to complete to reconstruct of expansion roads in Kathmandu Valley, the capital city of Nepal, on time.

Council of Ministry and Office of Prime Ministry directed to completetask of reconstruction of first phase road expansion programby August 31, 2031. However, reconstruction work is  still going on slowly.
"We are going to take action to those constructors who are unable to complete work on time," Krishnahari Banskota, secretary of Office of Prime Minister and also co-coordinator of monitoring committee, said.
Kathmandu Valley road expansion project was started in December 2011. According to the project, 200 kilometer road has to be expanded in first phase. Till, 120 kilometers road has been extended and 20 kilometer was pitched only.
Local people and pedesrianscomplainsof being delay in reconstruction of expansion road."It was praiseworthy task to do expansion but has to be reconstruct immediately," said Sumina Singh. We are being victim of dust and mud due to careless of government.
'It was difficult to remove telephone and electricity poles and wires, making drains and walls, manage water pipes and  gravelling," Bhaikaji Tiwari, Commissioner of Valley Development Authority, disclosed the root of being late in reconstruct.


"Really, it is difficult to walk, go one place to another," Ram Dhughana said. Which is worst part of valley. 
"Poor  system and lack of coordination among different organization is root cause of delay in reconstruction," Jayaram Lamichane, Chairman of Federation of Constrictors Association of Nepal (Fcan) added. It took too much time to do a very small task in an office. It affectedaltogether.


In Kathmandu Valley, road has been expanded and reconstructed in 63 places. It will take around six month to complete. "Then, we will start another phase of expansion, "informed Tiwari. It is plan to expand 5 hundred kilometer road in Kathmandu Valley.
